Procedures
The law sets down procedures which set out the correct way in approaching different situations in the workplace.

DISCIPLINARY
Where an Employee has or is acting in a way which is not acceptable to the Employer then the way in which to approach the issue is through the Employer’s disciplinary procedure.

ACAS have set down what is considered as a reasonable procedure and involves several stages including the right to Appeal.

GRIEVANCE
Where an Employer has acted in a way which is not acceptable to an Employee (or one of the employee’s colleagues who works for the Employer) then the way in which to approach the issue is through the Employer’s grievance procedure.

ACAS have set down what is considered a reasonable procedure which involves a thorough investigation and meeting.

REDUNDANCY
To ensure that a person is fairly selected for redundancy a proper process must be followed. Failure to follow this process may result in a claim of Unfair Dismissal.
